Alison JERRAM Obituary

Mrs Jerram was a wonderful teacher. She inspired (forcefully told me) that I must do a science degree and I am so glad I did. I went back to school to find her and thank her a few years later. My thoughts are with all of her family and friends.

On behalf of all those who loved her, thank you to all concerned in the wonderful farewell to Ally on Monday. To her family, may the memory of that amazing smile see you through the emotional roller coaster ahead. The thoughts and tears of many hundreds of people are with you.

Ally was the very best sort of colleague - hard to find and never to be forgotten. Not only was she effective in everything she did, but by some magic, she managed to distribute sunshine while she did it. Thousands of Marlborough women have had their lives changed for the better by the sheer good fortune of having had her as a teacher or as a dean. While it was always a privilege to work alongside of her - I used to wish I could have been one of her students:-) Lucky lucky girls! Rest in peace now Ally and know you will always be loved.

Pete, Tom, Pippa and families, we are deeply saddened by the loss of Ally, she will be truly missed. Our deepest sympathy to you all at this sad time. Unfortunately we are unable to be with you in person tomorrow but our thoughts will be with you. I have many happy memories of our shared love of horses and riding together, Ally on Gully who was over 16 hands and a challenge for her to mount!!!

Ally was a lovely lady. She taught my daughter, and was so kind and understanding to a girl fresh out from England.I saw her not very long ago, and she was still the same gracious and beautiful person. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Kindest thoughts to all her family.

Ally and I taught together at St Mary's High School in Greymouth. We had such fun times and I remember her with great fondness. My thoughts and prayers at this time to give Pete and family strength at this huge loss that Ally leaves.
