HILL, Dorothy J. (Lance) - Of Flint, age 93, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Swank Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation 10am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
Dorothy was born in Flint, Michigan on April 9, 1932, the daughter of Everett and Lola (Lucy) Rhoads and was a resident of the Flint area all her life. She attended Ainsworth Baptist Church and was a member of VFW Flushing Post #5666 Auxiliary and a member of Flint Travel Club. Dorothy was employed by GMI for 30 years, retiring in 1982.
Surviving are nieces, Marsha (Jerry) Steepe, Sherry (David) Smith, Onalee M. Christopher and Wenona (Robert) Napolitano II;
nephews, Tommy (Nancy) Earley, Walter (Nancy) Johnson, Steven (Terri) Johnson, Charles (Billy) Rhoads;
and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard R. Lance and second husband George E. Hill, her parents and brothers, Charles and Tommy Rhoads, sisters, Billie M. Johnson, Betty L. Sanders and niece, Janice Wagner.
