Alec GILES Obituary

On August 28, 2024 peacefully at home, aged 82 years. Dearly loved husband of Val, loved and respected father and father-in-law of Lindsay and Mary-Anne, Anna and Ross, Stu and Lisa. Much loved Ganga of Hannah, Eddie, Josh, Matthew, Hamish and Hannah, Jared and Kate, Kris, and Jake, and great-Ganga to 5 grandies. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Bruce, Barbara, Janette and Sid, Brent (deceased), Lynley and Franco, and loved by all his nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the district nurses and Rex the family doctor who cared for Grant over the past months, your support has been greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated. Messages may be addressed to the family of the Late Grant Giles, c/- Hope Funerals Christchurch, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, Christchurch 8042. A private wake will be held for Grant in the near future and advisement will be made closer to the time.

Our condolences to the wider family on Grant´s passing. Earlier in the year Grant was wanting a photo of Granddad Charlie´s old house on Heywards Road which was rented to Grant. I hope he got all the former houses he lived in ; a good history for the family. For Val, may you have the support of family and friends, so you can all talk about the great times you have shared together.
