Hi Julia
I was shocked to learn today when visiting Banbury Park, that Alan had died. He seemed so well in spirit when I saw him barely 4 weeks ago. I had some agricultural/farming reading for him.
You might recall I met you at the pool one day. Alan and I struck-up a casual friendship usually discussing; grand children, our histories, how to right the world, horse training but most importantly rugby. I enjoyed his open friendliness, his deep care for your family and his joyful humour. I have and will miss those chats.
My sincerest condolences to you and your family, a great Kauri has fallen

Remembering Alan from LHS days - a very popular young man , smart, everybodies friend, very kind. Aptly voted in as 'Head prefect'. Fondly remembered.

So sad to lose another 54er. I had great respect for Alan and he taught our son Russell at Ashgrove School, Rangiora. We had a lot of laughs at our get-togethers. Deepest sympathy to you all. Norma McLaren (nee Snook)

Happy memories of my wonderful teachers, indeed neighbours also. Mr and Mrs Rose, I have much to thank you both.
My favourite teachers at Burnham Primary, also wonderful neighbours in Kahu St (early '70"s).
Great people are ALWAYS remembered. No matter how far in time or distance passes.
