During our recent trip to NZ over the Christmas period we were lucky enough to spend some time with Mac and the whole family. This was the first time I met Mac and he instantly made us all feel so welcome with his warmth and kind heart. We had a few chats on the couch about life and it was clear from the get go that he loved his family dearly. His words "Joanne and I are so lucky to have such wonderful children. We are so very proud of them all". Mac was a genuinely lovely man and the boys and I are so glad we got to meet him. Mikey would like to add, Mac was so nice to us. He let us play with Kobie and he made a funny noise that made Anthony and I laugh. We will treasure these lovely memories. Thank you Mac. Rest peacefully xo.

Mac was my step father for as long as I can remember. He always had time for me and offered sound blunt advice a young fella needed to hear. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage and his beloved Rangers Football Club. Whilst living with Mac and mum I always resisted his passion for football being a rugby union kid. Eventually he convinced me to give it ago with the Westport Albion senior team whilst I was still at high school. All it took was one game under his coaching and I was hooked. We had some great times in the late 90´s. When Rory and Glenn came along he treated me no different to them. I was always welcome on family holidays, even at that time when I wasn´t living with them. I hadn´t seen Mac for several years but was with him at Christmas and he appeared he hadn´t aged a bit. It still seems unreal the he has passed and it will take some time to sink in. It enforces that we need to live life as best we can now as we don´t know what´s around the corner. My heart goes out to mum, Rory and Glenn.
