Adela was my mother's cousin. When my parents were alive we, and several other family members met monthly for lunch with Andrew and Adela, and I used to pick them up and take them. These were happy occasions where Ashburton events and other family happenings were discussed. I visited Adela at her home in Meadow Street several times, before she went into care. I rang her several times and chatted with her. She was always pleased and loved a chat. I had a fall and got concussion which resulted in me thinking Adela was in Diana Isaacs so the next time I rang I rang there. They said she was not there so I presumed she had passed away. Now today I see she was in Ngaio Marsh. My mistake. I am so sorry I have missed out on the contact. I have been widowed nearly forty years so we appreciated the communication we had. Adela talked about her two daughters and her grandies. Condolences to you girls, you had a very find mum. Suzanne Winter. 027 351 0043

A wonderful teacher at Ashburton High School. Well remembered for her style, in a day when gowns were still worn in Class.
