O'CARROLL, John Joseph:
S/N 0260609 Gunner 53rd Battalion Anti Tank 3rd Division Pacific WWII. On January 15, 2019, at Waikari Hospital. In his 99th year. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Edith for 70 years. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Julia and Brian O'Sullivan, Lawrie and Jenny, Tom and Pam, Peter, Lorna, Bob and Karren, Paul and Karen. Wonderful much loved Grandad of his 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations to the Order of St John Amuri would be appreciated and can be made at the service. A special thank you to the Staff Nurses and carers at Waikari Hospital. A Requiem Mass will be held at St Raphael's Catholic Church, 22 O'Carrolls Rd, Hawarden, on Tuesday, January 22, at 11.00am. Interment at Horsley Downs Cemetery to follow the service. Messages to the O'Carroll family, c/- PO Box 35, Rangiora 7440.

It was an honour to have met such a great person so many years ago, when I had the pleasure of spending Christmas 1991 with the O'Carroll family. So many fond memories, I will always cherish!
