Norris HICKEY Obituary

HICKEY, Norris Joseph - In his 80th year, died peacefully at home on September 27, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Colleen, and beloved father and father-in-law of Christine and Andrew, the late Kevin, Jan and Darryn, Paula, and Lynda and Philip. Adored 'Poppa/Pop' of Thomas and Ryan Bell, Joseph and Vita Gear, and Lila Olivier. Much loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle. The family would like to pass on their deep gratitude to the wonderful Nurse Maude team, Dr Bill Olds, and Brendon Anderson. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Teresa's Church, Puriri Street, on Wednesday, October 1, at 2.30pm.

Norris was a great mentor to many graduate students at the University of Canterbury, we deeply thank him for all we learn from him. Here is a photo of him taking during our wedding back in 1988. We will miss him. Colleen our deepest sympathies.
