Marge was one of the kindest people I knew, she was a very talented person with many strings to her bow. She was a very proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always spoke of her family with love and pride. She was an inspirational, hard working, determined, loving, loyal and amazing women. Hundreds if not thousands of people have worn her creations and she made many wedding days special with the care and love she put into everything she did. Rest easy now Marge your work is done.

POARU, Marjorie Ann
(formerly Pomare)
(nee Wards):
Much loved and respected sister of Murray and Ellie, aunt of Nicholas and Brooke (Perth), and Richard, great-aunt of Caleb, Allfie, Oliver and Jasper. A tremendous inspiration to us all in her resilient way to carry on bringing up her four children alone (Joy, Gail, Rua and Waka) when George Pomare passed away, their oldest was only 10. Marjorie had great sewing and gardening skills and knew her plants, built her own wooden kitchen cupboards at night school. Marjorie was a great listener and never gave her personal opinions. She will be sorely missed and we will honour her at Springston Cemetery today at 2.00pm.
