Dear Judith

You were a kind soul who impacted so many peoples lives in role as a teacher and pillar of the community.

You taught me how to write my name for the first time, gave me my first entry in the blue book, as my journey continued you always followed full of praise and guidance.

You are truely an amazing person, may you rest in peace and your soul be in heaven. It is very sad to learn you have left us, god has called you to be at peace and look over us above.

Passing on my deepest condolences to John and family. Judy was a very special woman and she will remain our memory forever.

May god bless you all

Judy, you were my first teacher and will always stand as one of my most memorable. I had the pleasure and good fortune of starting my school life with a teacher who I knew truly valued me for me - not what marks I got or how well I did. All through primary school and high-school, you still checked how I was going and what I was doing. You inspired me with a love of words and language, and I have an English Literature degree to show for it.
You will be truly missed. Not a teacher in the sense of a job-title, but a teacher in the sense of a whole and overarching respect for learning and care for people.
I like to think you're one of the lucky few invited to Bowie's exclusive party - say hi for me.
Kia kaha, John and family.

Sending all of the Thawley family my deepest sympathy. Judi was a great colleague at school, and a fabulous friend out of school. I have many happy memories of the dinners out that Gill, Judi and I would have. She was a special lady, so caring and interested in what we were all up to. I will always remember your cheeky smile, your hilarious sneezes , and your infectious laugh. I loved the way you were always beautifully presented, fabulous jewellery and scarves- our French lady. Rest in peace my dear friend. X

To John and family. I am so sorry to hear of the death of a dear colleague and friend. Judy and John lived down the road from us on Marine Parade and she was my walking buddy for a short time. I loved catching up with Judy at Mt Pleasant school as part of our Bays Cluster school events. (I work at Heathcote Valley School and have previously worked at Mt Pleasant and Lyttelton Main schools some years ago.) Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. Karen and Errol Amyes
