CATH, Eelke Gerben:
Born Lake Ranau, Sumatra, 1931, died Christchurch, New Zealand, on Friday, April 13, 2018. Loved brother to Phillip of Rangiora, and dearly loved brother-in-law to Karen, Denyse and Donald McKay, and the Lauren Family. He passed peacefully. A special thanks to Dr Chris Hill who cared for Eelke at Silverdale, and very special appreciation to Dr Stephen Baker whose kindly care, support and understanding kept Eelke independent for so many years. The Red Cross was there in Indonesia to help Eelke and his mother after their war experiences. They were also there in New Zealand for him and his family after the Christchurch earthquake. So in lieu of flowers we would ask that donations be made online to Red Cross New Zealand, bit.ly/egcath1304 Messages may be addressed to the Family of the late Eelke Cath, c/- 19 London Street, Richmond, Christchurch 8013. A funeral service to celebrate Eelke's life will be held at the Harewood Crematorium, Wilkinsons Road, Christchurch, on Friday, April 20, at 1.30pm.
