HUNTER,
Allan Douglas: MNZM
Sub Lieutenant Royal Navy NZ8722. New Zealand Order of Merit. Headmaster Burnside High School 1969 – 1980. Passed away peacefully at the Ngaio Marsh Rest Home on July 12, 2017, after a battle well fought. Beloved husband of the late Joan. Loved father and father-in-law of Paul and Helen, Phillipa and Derek, Vivienne. Grandfather of James and Sarah and step-grandfather of Jeremy and Courtney; grandfather of Christopher, Daniel, Mark and Anna, Richard, Catherine and Gareth and great-grandfather of Olivia. A special thanks for the compassionate care provided by the staff of Ngaio Marsh and to all the friends, colleagues and family who called to spend time with our father during these past three weeks. Messages may be sent care of the Hunter family to PO Box 5659, Papanui, Christchurch 8542. A funeral service for Allan will be held at the Aurora Centre, Burnside High School, This Day (Monday), at 2.00pm, to be followed by a private interment.
