Sadly passed away at 93 years of age, on October 6, 2017, in Christchurch Hospital, as a result of a series of medical issues, with the onset occurring whilst on his recent yearly whitebaiting trip in Takaka. Albie was the dearly loved husband of the late Florence (Flo) Rose; and dearly cherished dad of Kevin, the late John and father-in-law of John's wife Anne, loved grandad of Shane, Richard, Brett, James and Erin, and great-grandad of Jasper, Ethan and Jonathan, Hamish and Emily, and Olive, all of whom just adored him. He was also loved by Lesley, Angela, Luke and Josh, Mary, Katie and Wendy. We will all miss him dearly. We send special thanks to all the staff at Christchurch Hospital Acute Stroke Unit for their wonderful care and kindness whilst Albie was in their care. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Albie Peterson, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In accordance with Albie's wishes there will be a private cremation. Albie was a great character who lived life to the full. I fondly remember him particularly in my younger days when I lived in Canterbury. Being my uncle he and Rose were at our house often. Time has passed quickly since those days. May he rest in peace perhaps catching the odd whitebait.
