Sympathies to the Jeffery family. I well remember the very first time that I laid eyes on Ian at Hunter School...tam o'shanter on his head, standing alongside Bobby Barsdell I assume for an orientation visit prior to taking over as Principal.
He had no compunction in telling us all to be quiet as we lined up outside the clasaroom. Ian had high standards in the classroom and he was really innovative in some of the things he had us doing in science and literacy particularly.
I for one will never forget him and I am sure my brothers and sister who knew him will be the same.
Rest in peace Ian, a great teacher and such an interesting man.
